Pony Power connects people with disabilities or life challenges to the wonders of horses, farming and nature. We envision a community where horses, farming and nature are accessible to all. Pony Power offers a variety of equine-assisted and nature-based programs for people of all ages who need extra support. These include therapeutic horseback riding lessons, as well as non-riding programming centered around the care and handling of our herd of 22 ponies and horses. We also provide programming in our one-acre Farm in the Forest food production garden. Garden programming aims to enhance participants’ physical and mental well-being by connecting our clients with nature and the food we eat. The majority of our harvest is donated to the Center for Food Action in Mahwah, and Oasis – A Haven for Women and Children in Paterson. Supported volunteer and supported employment opportunities are also available.
