Care Farming Network

Our Impact

Care Farming Network is a catalyst for fostering connections and enhancing the capacity of care farms across the United States.

What we do and why it matters

We are a pioneering network that connects established and aspiring care farmers, fosters meaningful support, and raises awareness about the transformative power of care farming.

Raising Awareness

The Care Farming Network promotes the concept of care farming and its therapeutic benefits, educating the public, shaping attitudes, and inspiring action. We highlight inspiring stories and care farm changemakers through our newsletters, social media channels, and national media attention.

Building Community

Since 2021, more than 300 care farms have joined our network and are featured on our interactive online map. We organize farm tours, meet-ups, discussion groups, member gatherings, retreats, and a National Conference, creating connections and providing support for care farmers.

Increasing Capacity for Care Farms

Our experienced advisors provide personalized consultations, sharing years of practical experience and hands-on knowledge to support both aspiring and established care farmers. New initiatives, such as our Mentorship Program and 2025 National Conference, are strengthening the foundation for a more connected network in the future.

Data-Supported Research

CFN curates and shares both US-based and international research on care farming, which validates the therapeutic benefits of care farming through evidence-based findings. This research strengthens stakeholder support, informs policy and funding decisions, and improves on-the-ground program effectiveness. With support from a Northeast SARE grant, CFN is currently exploring the key characteristics of successful Care Farms throughout the U.S. and studying the impact of care farming on individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) employed on these farms.

What care farmers say about CFN

“Farm-based activities can support mental wellness. Why aren’t there more care farms in the U.S.?”
