As Program Associate, Sarah coordinates the National Care Farming Network Conference, mentorship program, virtual webinars, farm tours, and online resource library. Sarah is also an herbal educator through her business, Sweet Flag Herbs. She lives in Western New York State with her spouse, two cats, and many plants. After working for several vegetable farms, Sarah earned a horticultural therapy certificate from the American Horticultural Therapy Association. She loves facilitating garden-based programming for individuals with I/DD and coordinating non-profit programs.
Sarah’s passion for inclusive community is both personal and professional. Her brother, Matt, has Autism Spectrum Disorder and hopes to earn a living wage for his work. Sarah is thrilled to support farms that offer meaningful opportunities and/or paid work for folks with I/DD.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys singing backup vocals with a band, hiking, puttering in the garden, and learning about her ancestors’ cultures.
