News10NBC spotlighted Homesteads for Hope with a 3-minute clip as they celebrate 10 years of operation. Founder/CEO Jenny Brongo shared the care farm’s origin story: her family’s wish to create a place where her brother, Chucky and other adults with disabilities can learn, work and build community.

Roxanne Henry shared that she and her 19-year-old son Angus connected with Homesteads for Hope several years ago. “’He has staff that helped him build real skills in the garden, and then he has staff and he worked in the kitchen. He had real skills and he was building lifelong friends,’” Henry tells News10NBC.

Though she hoped to help Angus at Homesteads for Hope, Henry shares how she benefits from the community, too. “’It helped me also understand what I could do as an advocate for him, and how I could grow because other moms were here, helping boost me up.'”
