Care Farming Network is grateful to have gathered with an amazing group of care farmers at CFN’s inaugural Northeast Winter Retreat. We shared the challenges– and successes –and made progress in creating new resources for member care farmers, such as an online toolkit and a regional mentorship program.
The energy and enthusiasm was inspiring, and the knowledge shared by those in attendance was truly phenomenal! We kicked things off with a tour of Red Wiggler Farm, and then made our way to the Pearlstone Event Center in Maryland, where attendees got to know one another over two days of discussions, meals, music, and a bonfire. Breakout groups tackled issues such as goal setting and training needs, training and staff recruitment, and balancing mission and production on care farms. Attendees reflected on the value of connecting with care farming peers and generated a multitude of creative ideas about how we can support one another and advance our work as care farmers.
Overall, attendees reflected on the value of connecting with care farming peers and generated a multitude of creative ideas about how we can support one another and advance our work as care farmers. We are so grateful to everyone who participated and the leadership they brought to this experience!
