Washington, D.C. (7News) — A local organic farm marking 30 growing seasons is highlighting its mission of bringing neurodiverse people together through food production and meaningful work.
Red Wiggler Care Farm team members (Community Engagement Assistant Enrique Blanco, Distribution Assistant Clare Carrillo, and Executive Director Kara McCall) joined Good Morning Washington to discuss the farm’s work and future goals. Red Wiggler was described as a care farm that has cultivated “much more than fresh, organic food” over three decades.
The farm’s mission includes producing food for the community while providing meaningful work for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The discussion centered on how Red Wiggler balances those goals and how the care farm model has developed over time.

Red Wiggler Care Farm is a 12‑acre sustainable farm in Montgomery County, Maryland, where neurodiverse people come together to work, learn, and grow healthy food.
