Farmers face unique stressors and elevated mental-health risk. This session defines the occupational therapist’s role, identifies agricultural stressors and red flags, and demonstrates brief screens (PHQ-9, GAD-7, AUDIT-C) with functional measures (COPM/PSFS) used in the Occupational Therapy field.
Using a case, presenters give farm-ready interventions that pair person-level strategies (routines, sleep/pain) with environmental/workflow changes. They also outline an OT/AgrAbility collaboration pathway for assessment, referral, and follow-up.
This webinar offers practical takeaways for care farm managers and program staff around mental health red flags and management strategies–including staff working outside of the Occupational Therapy field.
