Philly Goat Project was featured on the PBS WHYY-TV 12 children’s show Good Neighbor Club in July 2026. Their segment starts at 7:00. Watch to meet several Philly Goat Project staff (and members of the herd!) and visit their Tree Cycle event.
Glenna, Director of Development, shares that “Tree Cycle is a festival of sustainability. So, we have our community come out, get outside, enjoy the outdoors on a beautiful day, even in the middle of winter. They’re supporting the goats, but the goats are supporting everyone who comes to visit in the area.”
Community members donate their Christmas trees to feed the goats. You’ll see Christmas tree munching in the segment as well!
Karen, Director of Philly Goat Project, and Glenna share:
People love watching animals, but watching goats is even more exciting because they’re more like humans than almost any other animals. They have siblings and they have relationships and they have misunderstandings and they are naughty sometimes and they are loving sometimes. So, you can see all of that without them even speaking.
When we don’t feel like being a good neighbor, it’s okay to have our feelings and even to express our feelings, but we all belong in the herd. And if you have to take five for a timeout, right, Ivy? We’re still responsible for our feelings because we’re responsible for our community and for our neighborhoods. So, what do I have to remind myself when I’m not feeling like a good neighbor, to turn it around and be a good neighbor? I think the best step that we can do is take a deep breath, calm ourselves down, and then make a change.
