Who We Are
Care Farming Network (CFN) is the first national network dedicated to connecting and supporting care farmers across the United States. Launched in 2021 as a program of Red Wiggler, CFN connects established and aspiring care farms, provides mentorship and technical resources, and raises public awareness of the transformative power of care farming: the intentional integration of agriculture with therapeutic interventions to promote health, well-being, and belonging.
CFN has grown from 13 founding farms in 2021 to a network of 400+ care farms across the country. Our long-term goal is a care farm in every U.S. county.
CFN is a program of Red Wiggler, which operates Red Wiggler Care Farm, a certified organic 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1996 in Germantown, Maryland. Red Wiggler employs adults with developmental disabilities as professional growers and launched CFN to give the care farming movement the national infrastructure it deserves.
