Stone View Farm is a 109-acre agritourism and therapeutic program destination nestled in the hillsides of Darlington, Maryland.
Throughout the year, visitors can enjoy a variety of pick-your-own experiences, including blueberries, wildflowers, sunflowers, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. While exploring the farm, guests can meet their friendly animals—cows, pigs, goats, chickens, and even peacocks—and take in the sweeping views of beautiful rolling hills.
Stone View Farm is also a proud member of the Care Farming Network. They aim to cultivate a supportive community by nurturing growth, resilience, and collaboration. Their path to building this
community is through their nonprofit, FarmFinity™. FarmFinity is a mission-driven care farming program that transforms the daily work of the farm into structured therapeutic, vocational, and social programming for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and individuals in recovery.
Together, Stone View Farm and FarmFinity preserve history and legacy farmland, create beauty, strengthen community, and support individuals in building a life beyond their wildest dreams.
FarmFinity™: Program Overview
The FarmFinity curriculum is designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and individuals in recovery through meaningful participation in active farm operations. The farm itself serves as the classroom, with learning grounded
in routine, responsibility, and community engagement.
FarmFinity integrates therapeutic goals with vocational skill development, offering participants life skills development, wellness, community connection, and dignity through real work, connection to nature, and opportunities for personal growth.
Participants are referred by schools, agencies, families, and community partners. Each participant receives a learning plan that is individualized and adaptable based on ability, interest, and support needs.
Participant goals may include:
- Improving emotional regulation and mental well-being
- Building confidence, responsibility, and independence
- Developing vocational and job-readiness skills
- Participating in social interactions and community inclusion
Curriculum Structure
The FarmFinity Care Farming Curriculum provides a structured yet flexible framework that transforms everyday farm operations into powerful tools for healing, learning, and growth. By grounding services in real agricultural work and community engagement, FarmFinity offers participants meaningful opportunities to build confidence, purpose, and connection.
The curriculum is organized into core modules based on existing farm operations. Participants may engage in one or multiple modules depending on interest, ability, and individualized goals.
Modules include:
1.) Pick-Your-Own Crop Operations Program: Activities include assisting with harvesting, light field maintenance; sorting and packing produce; learning seasonal crop cycles; and guided participation during public pick-your-own days.
2.) Animal Care & Husbandry: Activities include feeding animals, cleaning and maintaining enclosures, collecting eggs, observing animal behavior, and guided animal interaction.
3.) Sensory Garden: Activities include sensory exploration, gentle garden maintenance, guided calming and grounding exercises, and emotional regulation breaks.
4.) Farm Market & Produce Preparation: Activities include washing and sorting produce, packing and labeling products, market setup and breakdown, and greeting customers (optional and supported).
5.) Seasonal Experiences: Activities include setup and cleanup, wayfinding assistance, guest interaction, and team-based tasks.
