This session provides an in-depth look at Benevolence Farm’s innovative workforce development program for formerly incarcerated women and gender-expansive people. Participants will learn best practices for working with people exiting incarceration and hear about their strategic pivot from vegetable farming to a farm-to-body care enterprise that generates nearly $100,000 annually. As former program participants who now serve as full-time Enterprise Team staff, Eden and Mona provide invaluable insight into building sustainable social enterprises in rural communities.
