Rooted in Innovation: How Shared Language Strengthens the Care Farming Movement

Care farming is still a new—and often unfamiliar—concept for many people. As a movement, it’s up to those working in care farming to define our work clearly, consistently, and in ways that reflect our values and impact. This session explores how our language shapes public understanding, strengthens advocacy, communicates impact, and fosters belonging within the care farming community. Through a presentation and discussion, we’ll look at how care farmers and partners describe their practices, why terminology matters, and how developing shared language can deepen connection, build awareness, and strengthen the care farming community.
