Thistle House Farm is a family-owned & operated Care Farm combining biodiverse microfarming methods, along with Therapy Animals, and a Care Team to support nature-based therapeutic activities in a farm setting. Additionally, we will provide the ability to book appointments and sell a variety of farm products to help support our day programs. Our unique selling point lies in our diverse day program activities, including raised garden beds, sensory gardens, seating areas, and animals such as egg-laying chickens, goats, and miniature highland cows.

Senior’s Day Program: One of the standout offerings at Thistle House Farm is their nature-based therapeutic care farm day programs for seniors living with dementia. Participants can engage in activities such as tending to raised garden beds, exploring sensory gardens, and interacting with friendly animals like egg-laying chickens, goats, and miniature highland cows. These immersive experiences are designed to stimulate the senses, evoke memories, and enhance overall well-being. The Senior’s Day program also provides respite for senior care partners such as their loved ones, family, friends and care workers.

Youth Activities For young nature enthusiasts, Thistle House Farm also provides educational programs focused on biodiverse micro-farming. Youth can learn the ins and outs of sustainable farming practices, the importance of biodiversity, and how to care for a variety of crops and animals. The hands-on learning approach fosters a deeper appreciation for the environment and instills valuable life skills.

Therapeutic Animal Care: In addition to their therapeutic care and educational programs, Thistle House Farm offers animal care sessions for individuals seeking the therapeutic benefits of interacting with animals. Whether it’s feeding the chickens, grooming the goats, or simply spending time with the miniature cows, these sessions can be incredibly soothing and uplifting.
