We are dedicated to ending veteran hunger. We grow and deliver vegetables, eggs, and honey to veteran families in the Washington, D.C. area. We house and employ veterans, and offer a paid apprenticeship program for those who would like to start their own farms.
Peter Scott, a former counterintelligence agent in the U.S. Army, launched Fields 4 Valor Farms in 2016 and has grown it from a single garden bed to a 7 acre farm. He runs it alongside fellow veterans and military family members, using sustainable farming practices in an environment that is healing and enriching.
Starting in 2025, Fields 4 Valor is partnering with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC) as the Fields 4 Valor Program for Food Security! Together, we aim to expand opportunities, resources, and programs that empower Veteran farmers, address food insecurity, and fortify our communities. Peter will help establish an innovative pilot program in Maryland that coordinates donations and sales of agricultural products to local food banks near military communities. This pilot program aims to create sustainable food security solutions for Veterans that can be replicated in other military communities nationwide.
