High Hurdles provides horsemanship and horseback riding opportunities for individuals with or without cognitive, physical, emotional, and learning disabilities, in Sardinia, NY. Founded in 1997 as part of the sasi network, High Hurdles emerged from a community need to provide specialized therapeutic services for people with developmental disabilities and physical challenges.

What started as a small program with just one borrowed horse has grown into a comprehensive equestrian center serving over 150 participants annually, with a team of skilled riding instructors and ten specially trained horses.

In addition to adaptive riding lessons, High Hurdles offers off-horse lessons, work and life skills groups, and school programs.
