Meaford Green Care Farm is an outdoor adult day program for people with dementia; providing meaningful work in an agricultural setting. We meet once a week for five hours from late May to early October. Our farm is located in beautiful southern Georgian Bay in the town of Meaford.
Members of MGCF join us in caring for the vegetable gardens, sensory gardens and orchard in our care farm space. Activities include planting, watering, weeding, harvesting and walks on the property. We enjoy lunch together outside eating fresh vegetables from the garden.
Our farm is 100 acres and we have created a one acre section to designate as our care farm space. We also offer group visits for those that would benefit from an outdoor environment for their programming.
