Seed & Bloom

Seed & Bloom’s mission is to empower the lives of individuals who are incarcerated, to offer professional development and recreational solutions for re-entry, and to reduce the rate of recidivism. Using the framework of therapeutic horticulture and the positive sensory experiences of the kitchen, participants are re-introduced to the foundation of what makes us happy to be alive. Joy is not an emotion that is easy to come by inside the walls of a prison, but by planting seeds of knowledge and seeds for nourishment, joy can be accessed and opportunities for change can bloom. Our belief is that when individuals feel better and engage positively with their community, we all flourish.
